Senior Home Repair Program

Supporting the Senior Home Repair program:

There are several ways you can make a difference in the lives of older adults in Preble County!

  • Volunteer: See our available volunteer opportunities here. You can view current requests and claim a spot on any project that you feel comfortable with. Typical tasks include raking leaves, trimming shrubs, cleaning gutters, and pulling weeds. If you are interested in handyman opportunities such as repairing leaky faucets, installing grab bars, or other maintenance tasks inside the home, please reach out for more information.

  • Contractors: Our Senior Home Repair program has bid opportunities available year-round. Typical jobs are walk-in shower installations, roof repairs/replacements, HVAC maintenance, plumbing repairs, flooring installation, and more. Fill out our contractor application, which is available to download here, and submit it with a current W-9 to our main office.

  • Donate: Your contributions enable us to continue providing these vital services in our community. With your support, we help older adult homeowners continue to age in homes that meet their needs, fostering our vision that everyone in Preble County has a safe and affordable place to call home. Assisting Seniors in Preble County:

We believe older adults should be able to stay safely in their own homes as long as possible. However, as we age, our needs may change, and our homes may no longer be safe or appropriate for our current situation. Usually, a few minor repairs or modifications are all it takes for homes to be safe again.

Since 2015, our Senior Home Repair program has been dedicated to assisting older adults in Preble County who wish to age in place. Through generous donations, grants, and the efforts of local contractors and volunteers, we have supported hundreds of eligible households with:

  • Home Repairs: Addressing critical issues such as electrical and plumbing repairs, roof repairs or replacements, and other essential needs to ensure a safe living environment.

  • Accessibility Modifications: Implementing features like ramps, handrails, grab bars, lever door handles, and ADA-compliant bathroom modifications to enhance mobility and independence.

  • Yard Clean-Ups: Assisting with outdoor yard work to promote safety and improve the overall livability of the home.
