  • Senior Home Repair

H.I.T. Foundation is committed to keeping senior adults in their own homes for as long as possible by providing major home repairs, yard cleanups, minor handyman services and accessibility modifications.

With many cost-burdened households throughout the county, there is significant need and demand for critical repairs to homes occupied by low-income senior homeowners. H.I.T. Foundation receives numerous inquiries for home repairs on a rolling basis. More than 44% of Preble County’s housing stock was built prior to 1960. Therefore, the need for accessibility modifications and major home repairs will only increase over time.

Your support can help senior adults in Preble County remain safely in their homes as long as possible.

  • Homeless Services

In March 2015, H.I.T. Foundation began offering Homeless Services for Preble County residents. In October of that year, the foundation opened the emergency homeless shelter which is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The shelter serves as a temporary housing facility for clients experiencing a housing crisis. The average daily cost for one person in shelter is $73. This includes case management, referral service, meals, supplies, laundry, and utility costs.

Your support can make a difference in the lives of those in need of shelter.

  • Affordable Housing

H.I.T. Foundation owns and manages 59 rental properties throughout Preble County. The goal of affordable housing is to serve low-income households that meet attainable earning qualifications.

Our rental rates are below fair market value and we maintain our commitment to quality property management and support services.

Affordable Housing can also assist with home ownership for low-income households through the USDA 502 Loan Program.

Your support of this not-for-profit program can help provide safe, affordable housing to Preble County.
